The Sydney North Primary Health Network is a Primary Health Network (PHN) that focuses on improving the coordination of care for patients who are at risk of poor health outcomes. Powered by the desire to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of community health and medical services throughout Australia, the Sydney North PHN commissioned our digital agency to build their new website so that it is user-friendly, accessible and engaging to its range of customers.

Improving user experience
In consideration of the different users that access The Sydney North PHN’s site for information, we delivered an easy to navigate website with WCAG 2.0 AA rating for accessibility. To simplify the experience for the different users, we presented the content in a visual grid format so users can access relevant information via a couple of clicks. With a small budget to spend on assets, we created unique icons for each service offering which related to the offering and stood out to the different users, to engage them to click through and access relevant content to them.
Easy backend CMS
The Sydney North PHN’s site is content heavy and to empower the internal team to regularly maintain the content on their site, we migrated its proprietary CMS to WordPress with the Visual Composer plugin. By using the WordPress Visual Composer plugin, the internal staff at Sydney North PHN can update their content quickly and easily when and where necessary; upholding the integrity of the Sydney North PHN as a centralised information hub for its customers.
The Sydney North PHN wanted its customers to access the National Health Services Directory to find local service providers. To achieve this goal, we added the National Health Services Directory (NHSD) to the static navigation bar so customers can quickly and easily access the directory at any point of their visit on the site. At the same time, customers stay on the Sydney North PHN’s site while accessing the NHSD, reducing distractions for customers to click away from the site.
Ultimately, the new website we delivered for the Sydney North PHN has brought the network up to speed with the contemporary needs of patients by streamlining the process of finding “the right care, in the right place at the right time,” and improving their overall experience on the site.
